My kids love these cookies, and they are better for you than a lot of traditional breakfast foods out there. They are almost like bite-sized banana bread, as opposed to cookies. I like to buy overripe bananas at the store on sale, peel, and freeze them. They are easy to mash once defrosted.

Steps:
- Sift together flour, spices, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugars.
- Add butter (make sure it is soft), applesauce, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat until smooth, about one minute.
- Fold in oats.
- Drop by teaspoons on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
