Baked Steak image

A delicious and easy recipe made with simple ingredients. Highly satisfying! Serve over rice or with mashed potatoes, yum! Makes a great meal to take to someone who just had a baby or a recent surgery. All they do is pop it in the oven!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 top round boneless beef steak (3 lbs and trimmed of all the fat)
1 small green bell pepper, cut into 1/8 inch rings
1 small onion, cut into 1/8 inch rings
1 (14 ounce) can Italian stewed tomatoes, drained
1/2 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons oil
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In large skillet, brown steak in oil on both sides, cooking about 8 minutes in all.
  • Transfer steak to oven-proof dish or skillet large enough for all ingredients.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pile bell pepper and onion rings on top of steak.
  • Top with stewed tomatoes.
  • Pour ketchup over all.
  • Bake 60 minutes.
