Baked Macaroni & Cheese image

Who doesn't love comfort food on a cold and blustery day? This is perfect, and so easy! I like the smokey flavor of the paprika, but that can be left out or reduced if desired.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 1/2 c macaroni, cooked (10 oz dry noodles)
2 1/2 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 Tbsp smoked paprika (divided)
1/4 c butter, cubed
3 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • 2. Cook macaroni per package directions until tender. Drain.
  • 3. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper and 1/2 Tbsp smoked paprika and set aside.
  • 4. Coat 3-quart casserole dish with cooking spray. Place half of the cooked and drained macaroni in dish. Sprinkle half of the flour mixture over top, then top with half of butter cubes. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups cheese over top. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients, ending with cheese.
  • 5. Pour milk over all. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 Tbsp over the top. Cover dish with foil and bake for 35 min. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 min, until bubbly. Let the dish sit for 5 min before serving.
