Received this recipe about 20 years ago. Have made it many times over the years. It's always a hit.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 gouda cheese, about 7 oz.
1 package ( 8 oz ) refrigerated crescent-style dinner rolls
several teaspoons prepared mustard
1 egg white, beaten
sesame seeds

Steps:

  • 1. Remove 4 dinner rolls and place on small cookie sheet.
  • 2. With fingers smooth out perforated marks on dinner roll dough to form solid rectangle.
  • 3. Remove casing from Gouda and place cheese in center of crescent roll dough.
  • 4. Coat cheese with mustard and bring up all corners of dough to totally encase cheese, making sure all openings are sealed.
  • 5. Brush top with beaten egg white and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • 6. May prepare to this point and hold several hours in the refrigerator.
  • 7. When ready to serve, bake in preheated 375 oven for 30 minutes or until golden.
  • 8. Allow to sit a few minutes before slicing into wedges.
