Want to impress your guests? Then you have to serve them this easy to make hot crab dip. It does indeed smell and taste luscious. The warm, creamy crab dip pairs well with the pumpernickel bread. We also served it with pita chips. Yum!

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 13

14 oz crab meat, scallops and/or shrimp - any combination
16 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 c mayonnaise
1 c Parmesan cheese
1 c onion flakes, dehydrated
3 Tbsp parsley flakes
6 clove garlic, freshly minced
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
2 Tbsp lemon juice
Old Bay seasoning
1 large unsliced pumpernickel bread
scallions, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Combine softened cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, dried onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, and lemon juice.
  • 2. Chop imitation crab meat and stir into cream cheese mixture.
  • 3. Empty mixture into an oven-safe baking dish. (I use a white souffle baking dish.)
  • 4. Sprinkle top with more parsley and Old Bay Seasoning (or cayenne pepper).
  • 5. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and lightly browned (about 20-25 min).
  • 6. Tear pumpernickel bread into large bite-size chunks. Garnish with chopped fresh green scallions.
  • 7. Serving Suggestion: Place crab baking dish in the center of a serving plate, surrounded by the chunks of fresh pumpernickel bread. Sprinkle garlic salt over pumpernickel chunks, if desired.
