Bacon Marmalade image

Great accompaniment to grilled burgers. Fast and easy. This recipe makes enough for 4 large burgers. Double or triple recipe recipe for more. Was told it should keep in the fridge for up to 4 weeks or can be frozen. I never had leftovers.

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 slices bacon, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 teaspoons Frank's red hot sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon red wine vinegar
kosher salt
fresh ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook the bacon in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until almost crisp, 5 minutes. Pour off drippings leaving about 2 tablespoons. Add the onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring, until the onion browns, about 10 more minutes. If it starts to stick add a splash of water to the pan. Stir in the hot sauce, sugar, vinegar, and salt and pepper to taste.
