Bacon Cheeseburger Queso Dip image

A nice way to kick-up queso. This is a wonderful cheese dip that's brought to a whole new level of goodness with a few special ingredients. Big chunks of bacon make this dip super yummy and a touch smoky. The cream cheese gives the dip a rich flavor and makes it super creamy. Tomatoes with chilies add a little kick. If you like...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb lean ground beef, I used ground turkey breast and it was just as good
1 onion, diced
1 lb light Velveeta cheese, cubed
4 oz reduced-fat cream cheese, softened and cubed
1 can(s) diced tomatoes with chiles, drained (If too thick, add in a little more milk (10 oz)
1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled, I used center cut bacon
1/2 c milk, you may need more
1 c shredded Mexican-style cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Cook and drain bacon; set aside.
  • 2. In a large skillet over med-high heat, brown beef or ground turkey; drain the beef.
  • 3. Then, saute diced onion in a large skillet until translucent.
  • 4. In a large saucepan, melt Velveeta cheese, cream cheese, and 1/2 cup milk.
  • 5. Stir over medium heat until melted. Add shredded Mexican cheese, beef (or turkey), tomatoes, and bacon. Mix until combined.
  • 6. If too thick, add in a little more milk.
