Bacon Cheese Straws image

My daughter has made these for our Thanksgiving & Christmas celebrations. They're a tasty appetizer. I'm posting this because I almost lost this recipe once already and need a safe place to store it! (From the America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 - puff pastry sheet, thawed (9 in.)
1 cup(s) parmesan cheese, grated
5 - strips of bacon, chopped small
- pepper, to taste
- parchment paper

Steps:

  • Adjust oven rack to upper-middle position and preheat to 425 degrees.
  • Lay pastry on a sheet of parchment paper and sprinkle the cheese, bacon, and pepper on it. Top with another sheet of parchment paper and use a rolling pin to press it all into the dough. Remove top piece of parchment.
  • Using a pizza cutter, cut dough into 3/4 in (or so) strips. Gently twist each strip and bake on parchment lined baking sheet 10-15 minutes, until puffed and golden. Cool 5 minutes.
