Aunt Sally Cookies Recipe - (1/5) image

Number Of Ingredients 16

Frosting:
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp cream of tarter
4 tsp soda
1 cup sour milk
5 cups flour
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp vinegar
2 beaten egg whites
12 large marshmallows

Steps:

  • Mix sugar shortening eggs and molasses. Add remaining items. Mix well. chill one hour. Roll on floured board, not to thin. Cut with a spam can. Do not over bake. Frosting: boil sugar water and vinegar to medium stage. Pour over egg withes and add marshmallows. Frost and let stand to dry. Do not make frosting on a cloudy day. Bake 5 to 7 minutes @ 350
