Asparagus Ham Rolls image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 Tbsp butter
1/4 c all purpose flour
2 c milk
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper
24 asparagus spears
8 slice ham, cooked and thinly sliced
1/4 c bread crumbs

Steps:

  • 1. In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and cook until thick.
  • 2. Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened.
  • 3. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper.
  • 4. Remove from heat.
  • 5. Place three asparagus stalks on each ham slice.
  • 6. Roll up; secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  • 7. Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; cover with cheese sauce.
  • 8. Sprinkle with crumbs.
  • 9. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
