ASIAN SPICED PEAR PIE image

Mix:
3/4 c sugar
6 T flour
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg & allspice
Toss with:
6 c. thin sliced asian pears
2 T flour
2 T lemon juice
Pastry crust:
Line bottom w/generous edge, fill with pears dotted with 2T butter, top with crust folding bottom edge up and over top leaving highish rim. Slit top, cover rim with strips of foil, bake 375 on bottom rack 50 min.
Meanwhile, heat bubbly, cook 4 min.:
3 T. melted butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. honey
1 t. cinnamon
Cool 5-10 min. 'till thickens, add:
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Pour over mostly cooled pie

Steps:

  • Let pie cool 3 hours total to absorb juices and set caramel
