Steps:
- 1. Soak apples in water overnight. 2. In the water in which they were soaked, simmer apples until soft. 3. Mash the apples with the lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon and cloves. 4. Pour mixture into an unbaked pie shell. 5. Cover with second crust and seal edges, cutting several slits in top crust to allow steam to escape. 6. Bake at 425 degrees F for 15 minutes. 7. Reduce heat and bake at 370 degrees F for 35 more minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a rack for 10 minutes before slicing. May also be served at room temperature. Serve with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon.
