Apple Pie Topping image

I created this topping mainly because I wanted something other than chocolate syrup to put over my ice cream at night. This topping is to die for, it's that good. You keep in the refrigerator for up to a month. (If it lasts that long!) You can serve it hot or cold. If warming it up in the microwave, try15 seconds for 2 TBS.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 large apple, ambrosia
1 small lemon (juiced)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp lavendar
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Peel and dice 2 apples. I used Ambrosia apples but any type apple will do. Place in a medium size pot/pan.
  • 2. Pour lemon juice and stir to coat. (This keeps the apples from turning brown and give flavor.)
  • 3. Add cinnamon, lavender and flour. Mix well to coat apples.
  • 4. Add sugar and turn stove top to medium. Cook for approximately10 minutes or until apples are soft. Don't forget to stir through out the cook time.
  • 5. When apples are soft take off the heat and stir in the vanilla.
