Apple-Honey Tea (in slow cooker) image

When I became diabetic, a good friend, gave me some cookbooks to help me. Most of the recipes seem like regular recipes to me. This one does not called for any changes from regular ingredients. From Fix-It and Forget-It Diabetic Cookbook. Start with a 4 quart slow cooker.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 can(s) frozen apple juice/cider concentrate
2 tablespoon(s) instant tea powder
1 tablespoon(s) honey
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
- cinnamon sticks for stirrers, garnishes, & extra flavor

Steps:

  • Reconstitute the apple juice/cider concentration, according to package directions.
  • Pour juice/cider into slow cooker. Add tea powder, honey, and cinnamon. Stir to blend.
  • Heat on LOW 1-2 hours. Stir well, before serving, since cinnamon tends to settle on the bottom. (Also, could use cinnamon sticks for stirrers, which also could impart extra flavor-optional.)
