- In large bowl, beat together sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla. Beat in flour, salt and soda. Fold in pecans and chopped apples. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Leave in pan. In sauce pan, combine brown sugar, butter and milk. Boil and stir for 2 ½ minutes. Pour over hot cake. Let cool in pan. Some of the topping will be absorbed in the cake. Serve from cake pan.
