~Appetizer Meatballs ~ Crock Pot image

Hubby subtly hinted that he'd love a pot of these meatballs for work this week. They're great for any party and use ingredients most have in their pantry. I love the fact that they're finished off in the slow cooker. Makes for tender flavorful meatballs. My husband loves them served over rice. Try them for your next tailgate...

Time 4h30m

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 lb ground sirloin
1 egg, lightly beaten
4 Tbsp seasoned bread crumbs
1/3 c ketchup
3 Tbsp dried minced onions
3/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4 - 1/2 pepper
SAUCE
1 c each - packed brown sugar & ketchup
1/4 c each - cider vinegar & soy sauce
1 small can, tomato paste
1 tsp hot sauce

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, gently mix meat with remaining ingredients. Don't over mix, just until combined. 2 Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Using my 1 inch cookie scoop, I arranged meatballs on 2 cookie sheets.
  • 2. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until firm to touch and browning. Place cooked meatballs into a small Crock pot.
  • 3. In a medium bowl, whisk the sauce ingredients together. Pour sauce over meatballs and com on low for 3 1/2 - 4 hours. I usually start them on high, for the first 30 minutes.
  • 4. Serve as desired. They are great served with tooth pucks as an appetizer or serve over rice. Enjoy!
