Amazing Hot Bacon Salad image

I made this recipe for my new son-in-law & he loved it so much that he literally drank the remaining dressing left in the bowl!!! It came from a PA Dutch friend.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 - eggs, well beaten with a fork
1 cup(s) sugar, add to eggs
1/2 cup(s) vinegar, beaten in
1/2 cup(s) water, stir in
1 teaspoon(s) dry mustard, added
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper
6 slice(s) diced bacon

Steps:

  • Wisk together first 7 ingredients. Fry bacon, in a medium frying pan, until well done & pour the wet ingrdients into the hot pan. Do not drain the grease! Cook on medium until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, tear a bowl of mixed head & romaine lettuce. Add a thinly sliced red onion. May add hard-boiled eggs, if desired. Pour the hot dressing over the salad & serve.
