60 Minute Pan Rolls image

I think I got this recipe off of a rapid rise yeast package, I have made rolls out of them for years and they turn out very good, and you can put in loaf pan and make a loaf of bread also using this recipe

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 3/4-5 1/ c all purpose flour
1/3 c sugar
2 pkg rapid rise yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c milk
3/4 c water
1/4 c margarine
1 eggs, slightly beaten

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Heat milk, water and margarine (120-130 degrees) Stir into dry ingredients. Mix in egg and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead on floured surface 7-8 minutes. Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
  • 2. Pinch off equal size balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. (For electric oven, turn oven on 200 degrees for 1 minute, then turn off. For gas oven, the pilot light should be enough heat to make the dough rise.
  • 3. Put bread in warm oven for 20 minutes to rise. Take out of oven and preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 15 minute or until light brown. When I take mine out of the oven, I have melted margarine and lightly put on top of rolls.
