HOMEMADE RANCH DIP



Homemade Ranch Dip image

Tangy, fresh, and filled with herbs, this is a flavorful ranch dip that's better than anything you can buy.

3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 - 3/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic or garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon granulated onion or onion powder
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt, adjust to taste
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1-3 teaspoons fresh lemon juice or white vinegar

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk to combine. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • This dip will keep nicely in the refrigerator for up to a week. Enjoy!

  • Whisk in garlic powder and salt, if using.

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons chopped chives
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon salt
6 sprigs fresh flat-leaf parsley, leaves only, roughly chopped
4 cloves garlic
4 to 8 dashes hot sauce

Steps:

  • Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, chives, vinegar, dill, salt, parsley, garlic and hot sauce to a food processor and pulse to combine.

12 tablespoons salted butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
All-purpose flour, for dusting
1 pound pizza dough
One 1-ounce packet dry ranch seasoning

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan over a medium-low heat, melt the butter with the garlic and parsley, then set aside.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle, about 8 inches by 12 inches. Pour over two-thirds of the butter mixture and brush so the dough is coated all over.
  • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the top. Roll the dough tightly into a 12-inch long roll and pinch the seam closed. Slice into twelve 1-inch pieces and place them cut-side up in a 10-inch cast-iron pan. Pour the remaining butter mixture over the top. Cover and let rise for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake until the rolls are golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

I came up with this recipe after falling in love with a local Mexican restaurant's garlic butter dip that they serve with their grilled chicken. It took several tries to figure out what the missing ingredient was. This is pretty close. It would be good with steak, shrimp, or veggies too.

1/2 teaspoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic (not garlic salt)
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
