5 granny smith apples, peeled, cored & thinly sliced into rings
1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cut apple slices crosswise in half.
  • Place in 9-inch square pan; sprinkle with dry cake mix.
  • In small bowl, combine sugar & cinnamon; sprinkle over cake mix.
  • Drizzle with butter.
  • Bake 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
  • Serve warm with ice cream, if desired!

1 cup water
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Arrange apples in an even layer in bottom of baking dish. Pour water over apples.
  • In a medium bowl mix together cake mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir in melted butter or margarine until ingredients are thoroughly blended; mixture will be crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes.

4 -6 apples
1/4 cup butter (I would use butter) or 1/4 cup margarine (I would use butter)
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup quick oats
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Peel, core and slice apples.
  • Place in a well greased 8x8-inch baking pan.
  • Mix cake mix, oats, sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Melt butter and pour over the top of the dry cake mixture and mix until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle this over apples.
  • Bake 35-40 minutes until golden.
