Steps:
- 1. Place apple slices in the bottom of a greased square pan. Sprinkle apple with sugar.
- 2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar and salt. Mix in butter with fingers or pastry blender.
- 3. Cover apple with this mixture and bake in a 350F oven for about 30 minutes until crumbly mixture is golden in color.
- 4. There are no spices such as nutmeg or cinnamon in this dessert. Many Quebecers prefer their apple desserts without spices. A good pinch of cinnamon can be added to the flour if you prefer spicy apple desserts.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Peel, core & slice the apples & spread them evenly in a 9" deep dish pie plate.
- In a mixing bowl, blend together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt & egg, then spread this mixture over the apples.
- Pour melted butter over the flour mixture & sprinkle the cinnamon over that.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until apples are soft.
