1 (1 1/2 lb) ring Polish sausage
2 cups beer
2 cups water
2 onions, sliced
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon maggi seasoning or 1/2 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
2 teaspoons vinegar
sugar, to taste

Steps:

  • Simmer sausage and onion in combined water and beer for 20 minutes.
  • Brown the butter and blend in flour.
  • Slowly add 1 cup of liquid strained from the meat.
  • Stir until thoroughly blended. If sauce is too thick, add more liquid.
  • Add Maggi extract, vinegar and sugar to taste(brown sugar may be substituted).
  • Slice the sausage, pour the sauce over it,.
  • and serve with boiled potatoes.

1/4 cup(s) vegetable oil
4 cup(s) thinly sliced onions
1 tablespoon(s) minced garlic
1 cup(s) canned chicken broth
6 tablespoon(s) honey
2 tablespoon(s) spicy whole grained mustard
2 tablespoon(s) apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Heat oil, add onions cook till carmelized- 15 minutes ? Add garlic cook 1 minute. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cook stirring till reduced to 1/2. Add mustard, vinegar and honey. Lower heat to medium low. Simmer till thick - 6 minutes ? Remove from heat, cool 10 minutes before serving with Polish sausage. Yield 1 cup.

Vegetable oil, for sauteing
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
6 links Polish Sausage, sliced diagonally
Sauteed spinach, recipe follows
Mushroom risotto, recipe follows
1 pound fresh spinach, washed and trimmed
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Salt and pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup porcini mushrooms, reconstituted in water to cover
1 cup Arborio rice
1 cup white wine
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 cups chicken stock
2 tablespoons Parmesan
Fresh parsley, for garnish

Steps:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a medium sized saute pan. Add the sliced onions to the pan and saute them in vegetable oil for approximately 3 minutes, or until they are tender. Add the sliced polish sausage and saute until each piece is heated through. Serve warm with spinach and risotto.
  • Saute onions in vegetable oil over medium heat until just translucent. Add chopped garlic and continue to saute for 2 minutes. Add spinach and saute until it begins to wilt. Serve immediately. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large saute pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and saute until the onions become translucent. Add the mushrooms, reserving the mushroom juice, and rice to the pan and toss all of the ingredients together until they are thoroughly mixed. Add white wine to the pan and cook until the liquid is absorbed. Add the reserved mushroom juice, 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper and 1/2 cup of chicken stock to the saute pan. Continuously stir the mixture as you add warm chicken stock, 1/2 cup at a time, until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is cooked al dente and the stock is absorbed into the rice. Remove the pan from heat and add Parmesan and parsley for garnish. Serve immediately.

1 lb smoked kielbasa
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 1/2 cups beer
2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 teaspoons brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 potatoes, peeled, boiled, and quartered

Steps:

  • Sauté onion in 2 tablespoons butter until golden.

2 pounds kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
⅓ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 onion, chopped
½ cup brown sugar
2 dashes hot pepper sauce
⅔ cup water

Steps:

  • Place sausage in a large saucepan. Add water to cover and simmer over low heat for 1 hour. Drain, remove sausage and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In the same saucepan combine the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, onion, sugar, hot pepper sauce and water. Bring all to a boil, stirring. Place reserved sausage in a 9x13-inch baking dish and cover it with the sauce mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour.

1 small rutabaga, peeled and diced
4 yukon gold potatoes, peeled and diced
3 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
salt and pepper
8 Polish sausage (Kielbasa or others)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup prepared mustard
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons sambal oelek

Steps:

  • Roasted Veggies: Place the rack in the center of the oven. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • In an ovenproof skillet, brown rutabaga and potatoes in butter. Add onion and stir well. Add salt and pepper. Cook in oven about 40 minutes or until veggies are tender. Stir the veggies a few times during cooking.
  • Sausages: Prick the sausages with a fork and put in a saucepan with water. Bring to boil and let simmer slowly about 5 minutes. Drain.
  • In a skillet, brown the sausages in oil.
  • Spicy Honey Mustard: Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix all the ingredients. Serve the sausages with roasted veggies, spicy honey mustard and sour cream.

1 pound smoked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 medium onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 celery rib, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
Hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, saute the sausage, onion, green pepper and celery in butter over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender; remove with a slotted spoon and set aside., In the same skillet, combine the brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar and salt. Drain pineapple, reserving juice; set pineapple aside. Add juice to skillet; bring to a boil. Return sausage mixture to pan. Combine the cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in reserved pineapple; heat through. Serve over rice.
