My Mom sent me a ton of vintage craft books, and within the pages were recipes I felt worth saving. This is one of those recipes. Originally published in The WorkBasket (now out of print) March, 1983

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pkg cream cheese
1 qt strawberry ice cream
1/2 c mayonnaise
2 can(s) fruit cocktail, canned
1/3 c chopped nuts

Steps:

  • 1. Combine softened cream cheese, ice cream and mayonnaise. Mix until well blended.
  • 2. Fold in fruit and chopped nuts. Pour into 9 in. square pan.
  • 3. Freeze until firm. Place in refrigerator 15 minutes before serving. Cut into squares. Garnish with cherries and mint leaves if desired.

Creamy squares of strawberry ice cream and cream cheese are combined with canned fruit cocktail and pecans, then frozen for a refreshing dessert!

Yield Makes 18 servings, 1 piece each.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 qt. (4 cups) strawberry ice cream, softened
1/2 cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing
2 cans (17 oz. each) fruit cocktail, drained
1/3 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese, ice cream and dressing in large bowl until well blended. Stir in fruit cocktail and pecans.
  • Pour into 9-inch square pan or 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Freeze 3 hours or until firm. Remove from freezer 15 minutes before serving to soften slightly. Cut into 18 pieces to serve. Store leftover dessert in freezer.
