Steps:
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix ½ cup sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, butter, shortening, and egg thoroughly. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.
- Mold dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake until edges are light brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Immediately press candy kisses firmly into each cookie, cool.

- (Have kisses unwrapped before removing cookies from oven).
- Cream sugar, butter, egg and vanilla.
- Add peanut butter and milk, mix well.
- Add in dry ingredients.
- Spoon out by spoonfuls (or roll into balls and coat with granulated sugar) and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top each cookie with a kiss while still hot.
- Tip: if you like crunchy cookies replace butter with shortening, but other wise the butter makes them nice and chewy.

- Mix peanut butter, sugar and eggs until blended. With floured hands, roll level tablespoons of dough into balls.
- Place balls 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake 12 - 14 minutes. Remove from pan, immediately place chocolate kiss in middle. Cool 1 - 2 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium heatproof bowl, combine egg whites, confectioners' sugar, and pinch of salt. Set bowl over (not in) a pot of barely simmering water and cook, whisking constantly, until mixture is warm and frothy and sugar is dissolved, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove bowl from heat and, using an electric mixer, beat mixture on high until stiff, glossy peaks form, about 3 minutes. Beat in vanilla, then fold in peanuts and chocolate. Transfer mixture to a quart-size zip-top bag; with scissors, cut a 3/4-inch hole in one corner.
- Pipe 30 mounds (1 inch tall and 1 1/2 inches wide), 1 inch apart, on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Bake, using the handle of a wooden spoon to keep oven door slightly ajar, until dry to the touch, about 20 minutes, rotating halfway through. Let cool completely on sheet on a wire rack before peeling off parchment.

GLUTEN FREE PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES (KISSES FROM HEAVEN)
I found this GF peanut butter cookie recipe on a few sites, but I made a few modifications and added some extra goodies to make these similar to my mother's Peanut Butter Kisses cookies she made at Christmas time.

- - Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- - Grease a baking sheet.
- - Mix both sugars, vanilla, egg and peanut butter in a large bowl (using a large wooden spoon works, some recipes call for a hand mixer).
- - Once smooth roll into small balls (about the size of a dollar coin)
- - Roll the balls in the cinnamon/sugar mixture and place on the cookie sheet leaving space for them to expand.
- - Place the completed cookie sheet in the oven for 8-11 minutes.
- - Take the cookie sheet out and promptly place a few chocolate chips (morsels or whatever you have) in the center of the cookie while they are still hot and soft.
- - Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheet for another 2-3 minutes and then remove.
PEANUT BUTTER KISSES CANDY
Chocolate and peanut butter what could be better. This candy thinks it is a thumb print cookie, a peanut butter cup, or messed up buckeye ball. Store in fridge. Makes a great addition to a candy tray.

- 1. Preheat oven to 375F.
- 2. In a medium bowl, beat together butter or margarine, peanut butter, brown sugar, 1/4c sugar, egg, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
- 3. Add flour and baking soda to mixture; beating until thoroughly blended.
- 4. Shape dough into 24 balls if you use a heaping tablespoon or 48 balls if you use a heaping teaspoon.
- 5. Roll balls in 3T of granulated sugar until coated. Place 1/2 to 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet (I prefer baking stones, make sure it is made in USA to avoid lead issues.)
- 6. Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes or until light golden. Immediately top each cookie with a candy kiss, carefully pressing down firmly.
- 7. Remove cookies from baking sheets; cool on racks.

- 1. HEAT oven to 375° F. 2. CREAM together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Beat well. 3. STIR together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Beat on low speed until stiff dough forms. 4. SHAPE into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 5. BAKE for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. 6. TOP each cookie immediately with an unwrapped chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so that cookie cracks around edge. Remove from cookie sheets to cool.
