¼ cup margarine
½ cup peanut butter
¾ cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups crispy rice cereal squares

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the margarine, peanut butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture. Crush the cereal squares and stir into the dough until well blended. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Flatten slightly using a fork and making a criss cross pattern. Dip the fork in sugar to prevent sticking.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bottoms are lightly browned. Let stand on the cookie sheet for 1 minute before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter (plain or chunky)
5 cups corn flakes

Steps:

  • In large pan, bring sugar and corn syrup to a boil.
  • Stir in peanut butter and remove from heat.
  • Add cornflakes.
  • Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

3/4 c butter or margarine, softened
3/4 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
2/3 c peanut butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c california dried figs, chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)the pepper will open the palate which will make the components of this cookie more pronounced.
1/2 c additional sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2. Cream butter and both sugars; blend in peanut butter, egg, and vanilla. Add sifted flour, soda, salt, cayenne pepper and figs; mix well.
  • 3. Form into small balls; roll in additional sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375º for 10 - 12 minutes.

4 1/2 cups Rice Krispies (or use 4-1/2 cups corn flake cereal, semi crushed after measuring the whole flakes)
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1/3 cup chopped salted peanuts

Steps:

  • Spray a large cookie sheet or line with waxed paper.
  • Place the cereal and chopped peanuts in a large bowl; set aside.
  • In a medium heavy saucepan combine the brown, white sugar and the corn syrup; bring to a full boil over medium-high heat stirring occasionally.
  • Boil for about 2 minutes at a full boil.
  • Remove from heat mix in the vanilla then the peanut butter until well combined.
  • Pour over the cereal and mix well using a wooden spoon (the mixture will firm slightly while mixing so mix fast!).
  • Drop onto baking sheet using 2 tablespoons (using one spoon to push the mixture off of the other spoon onto the pan as the mixture is hot, make into whatever size you desire).
  • Cool until firm.
  • Delicious!

FAST, EASY & DELICIOUS! This is one of my favorite childhood recipes. Now I make them for the youth at my church and they just love them...as well as the "big kids" :) Everyone asks for the recipe! This is also a great recipe to use for Bake Sales..it's usually the first to go!

1 c sugar
1 c corn syrup, light
2 c peanut butter, creamy
4 c puffed rice cereal
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. Bring to a boil in a 2-qt pot; sugar and corn syrup. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add the peanut butter and vanilla, stir till smooth. In a large bowl, put cereal & pour peanut butter mixture over cereal, mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax or foil paper. Let cool completely and enjoy. They will remain soft & chewy.

6 cups Kellogg's® corn flakes (crushed to 3 cups)

Steps:

  • 1. In 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and salt. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until sugar is dissolved and mixture just begins to bubble. Remove from heat.2. Add peanut butter to hot syrup, stirring until combined. Stir in KELLOGG'S CORN FLAKES cereal until evenly coated. Lightly press hot mixture into 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool completely. Cut into squares. Store in airtight container.
