Copycat Outback Steakhouse Baked Sweet Potato image

You can recreate the Outback Steakhouse Baked Sweet Potato with honey butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar at home.

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 6 ounce sweet potatoes
2 cups butter, softened
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Wash the sweet potato and wrap it with foil. Plance on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake potato for approximately 1 hour, or until you can easily pierce the potato with a fork.
  • While the potato is baking use a mixer to mix together the butter and honey until the texture is uniform. To serve remove the foil and split the potato open with a knife. Top with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and finally a scoop of the honey butter. Store leftover honey butter in the refrigerator.
  • Serve each potato with 2 tablespoons of the honey butter.

4 potatoes - 1/2 pound size russet potatoes
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 to 2 tablespoons kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Wash and dry the potatoes. Pour vegetable oil into a small dish, and dip a paper towel into the oil. Rub the paper towel over the potato. Place potato on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle kosher salt over potato. Bake potatoes in the oven for approximately 1 hour. Check potato for doneness by inserting a fork and if it presses through easily the potato has completed cooking.
