COOKIES & CREAM PIE (OREO)

This cookies & cream pie features a crunchy Oreo cookie crust and gloriously creamy filling that sets up in the refrigerator. Easy enough for any beginner baker to handle!

20 whole regular Oreos (to make 2 cups/220g of crumbs)
5 Tablespoons (72g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (240ml) cold heavy cream or heavy whipping cream
1 8-ounce block (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup (90g) confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
12 whole Oreos, chopped (about 1.5 cups, or 135g)
optional for topping: homemade whipped cream

Steps:

  • Preheat to 350°F (177°C).
  • In a food processor or blender, pulse 20 Oreos (including the cream filling) into a fine crumb. You should have about 2 cups, or 220g. Stir the Oreo crumbs and melted butter together. Press tightly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool as you prepare the filling.
  • Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, whip the cold heavy cream into stiff peaks on medium-high speed, about 4 minutes. Set aside. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk or paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese on medium speed until perfectly smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides and up the bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. Add the confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract and beat on medium-high speed until combined. Make sure there are no large lumps of cream cheese. If there are lumps, keep beating until smooth.
  • Using your mixer on low speed or a rubber spatula, fold the whipped cream and chopped Oreos into the cream cheese mixture until combined. This takes several turns of your rubber spatula. Combine slowly as you don't want to deflate all the air in the whipped cream.
  • Spread filling into cooled crust. Use an offset spatula to smooth down the top.
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 6 hours and up to 2 days. The longer refrigerated, the better the pie will set up. You could also freeze the pie for at least 4 hours and up to 3 months. The crust is a little difficult to eat frozen, though.
  • Feel free to garnish the pie with whipped cream. I used Ateco 849 piping tip for the whipped cream in the pictured pie. Using a clean sharp knife, cut into slices for serving. For neat slices, wipe the knife clean between each slice.
  • Cover and store leftover pie in the refrigerator or freezer for up to 5 days.

1 oreo cookie pie crust
1 pkg small box of jello, oreo cookie & cream pudding mix
1----8 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 small carton cool whip, thawed
3/4 c milk
oreo cookies to crumble on top

Steps:

  • 1. In large bowl, place pudding mix, & milk. Blend well with mixer.
  • 2. Add softened cream cheese to pudding mixture & mix well.
  • 3. FOLD in cool whip with rubber spatula.
  • 4. Pour in pie crust, CRUMBLE cookies over top. Cover & place in fridge for a couple of hours. I make mine the night before I will need it, & chill overnight.

1 cup powdered sugar
4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
3 cups milk
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
1 (16 ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®), crushed into chunks

Steps:

  • Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and butter in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Add milk and vanilla pudding mix and beat until well combined and all lumps are gone. Fold in whipped topping.
  • Distribute 1/2 of the chocolate sandwich cookies on the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish. Cover with the pudding mixture and top with remaining cookie chunks. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.

There are 4 layers to this yummy dessert. I came across the recipe years ago and added it to my collection. Now I make it all the time for potlucks and holidays and it's always a huge hit. You'll want to make it in a glass dish so you can see all the layers.

1 (16 5/8 ounce) package Oreo cookies, finely crushed
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (16 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 3/4 cups whole milk
1 (6 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Reserve 1/4 cup of the Oreo crumbs and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the remaining Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Oreos should be damp but not wet. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 glass dish to form the crust.
  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, half of the whipped topping and powdered sugar. Mix on medium speed just until smooth. Pour over crust, using a moistened spatula to spread evenly.
  • Combine pudding mix, milk and sweetened condensed milk in a large bowl and mix until smooth. Pour over the second layer spreading it out evenly across the top.
  • Place the dish in the refrigerator for approximately 15 minutes or until the pudding is set. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the top and then sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs. Serve cold.

This is always my go-to recipe for gatherings. Very simple and inexpensive to make. You can also substitute store-brand names for the foods.

2 (18 ounce) bags chocolate sandwich style cookies (Oreos or the store-brand)
1 (16 ounce) container whipped topping (Cool Whip or the store-brand)
1 (8 ounce) cream cheese (Philadelphia or the store-brand)
1 cup powdered sugar, divided
4 (3 1/2 ounce) prepared vanilla, pudding cups (Like Hunt's Snack-Packs or the store-brand)

Steps:

  • Crush two rows of the first bag of cookies. You can put them in a ziplock-type bag and use a rolling pin, or you can use the bottom of a cup and crush them that way in a bowl. Whichever is easier. Layer these cookies in the bottom of a 9 x 12 pan and set it aside.
  • Using a hand mixer, mix half the tub of whipped topping, ½ cup powdered sugar, the vanilla pudding and the cream cheese well, until blended. Spread this mixture over the cookies.
  • Crush the remaining row of cookies from the first bag and sprinkle over this layer.
  • Using a hand mixer, whip the remaining whipped topping for about 30 seconds, and spread this over the second layer of cookies.
  • Crush two rows of the second bag of cookies, and spread over the whipped topping
  • Garnish with the remaining row of cookies. I normally stand them up in the mixture, so half the cookie is standing up.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining ½ cup of powdered sugar, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
