I made these for the kids for Christmas but was surprised by how well the adults loved them

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 c sugar
1/3 c butter, melted
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
16 oreo cookies, coarsely chopped
2 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until blended.
  • 2. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 3. Fold in chopped cookies.
  • 4. Divide mixture in half.
  • 5. With floured hands, shape each half into a 9x3-inch loaf on a lightly greased large baking sheet.
  • 6. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in the centers come out clean.
  • 7. Remove from oven; cool for 10 minutes.
  • 8. Cut each loaf diagonally into 15 (1/2-inch thick) slices.
  • 9. Place slices, cut side up, on same baking sheet.
  • 10. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes more on each side or until lightly toasted.
  • 11. Drizzle tops with melted chocolate.

1 cup(s) sugar
1/3 cup(s) butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 tablespoon(s) pure vanilla extract
3 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
16 - double stuf regular oreo cookies, chopped
1 cup(s) chocolate chips, milk or dark chocolate (whatever you like)
2 tablespoon(s) shortening, butter flavor

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In large bowl, combine sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla; mix well. Add flour, baking powder & salt; mix well. Stir in chopped oreos. Divide dough in 1/2. Shape each 1/2 into 9 x 13" loaf on greased baking sheet with floured hands. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes. Cut each loaf diagonally into 16 slices. Place slices, cut side up, on same baking sheet. Bake an additional 10 - 12 minutes on each side or until toasted on both sides. Cool on rack.
  • Once cooled, microwave chocolate & shortening together & stir until smooth. Dip each biscotti 1/2 in mixture & place back on same baking sheet to dry completely.
  • VARIATIONS: Use different flavored oreos to mix things up a bit.

2squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 350°F.
  • MIX sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl until well blended. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Stir in chopped cookies. Divide dough in half. Use floured hands to shape each half into 9x3-inch loaf on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  • BAKE 25 to 30 min. or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in centers comes out clean. Cool 10 min. Cut each loaf diagonally into 16 (1/2-inch-thick) slices. Place slices, cut sides up, on same baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 min. on each side or until lightly toasted on both sides. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
  • DRIZZLE cooled biscotti with melted chocolate.
