This coffee ring is an old family recipe that's long been a hit with anyone who's tried it. The yeast bread is a great Sunday treat - or the perfect way to kick off your holiday celebration.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 packages (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
1-1/4 cups warm 2% milk (110° to 115°)
7 tablespoons sugar
4 large egg yolks, room temperature
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
4 to 4-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
TOPPING:
1/2 cup slivered almonds, divided
2/3 cup sugar
4 teaspoons grated orange zest
3 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add the sugar, egg yolks, butter, salt and 2 cups flour; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (dough will be sticky). , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 24 pieces; shape into balls. In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and orange zest. , Sprinkle 1/4 cup almonds into a greased 10-in. fluted tube pan. Dip half the balls in melted butter; roll in sugar mixture. Arrange over almonds. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup almonds. Repeat with remaining balls. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake on lowest oven rack at 350° for 38-42 minutes or until golden brown (cover loosely with foil if browning too quickly). Cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a platter.

1 tube (13.9 ounces) orange sweet rolls with icing
1 ounce cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut, toasted

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Set aside icing from sweet rolls. Arrange rolls in a greased 9-in. round baking pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. , In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and reserved icing. Spread over rolls. Sprinkle with coconut. Serve warm.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup All-Bran® Original
3/4 cup orange juice
1 egg
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1/2 cup raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.2. In large mixing bowl, combine KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and orange juice. Let stand about 2 minutes or until cereal softens. Add egg, shortening and orange peel. Beat well. Stir in raisins. Add flour mixture, stirring only until combined. Fill 8 1/4-inch ring mold, coated with cooking spray, about 2/3 full.3. Bake at 400°F about 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from mold. Let cool completely on wire rack.4. Frost with icing made by combining powdered sugar and milk.
