CHEESY MUSHROOM CRESCENT PUFFS

4 cups finely chopped mushrooms (from two 8-oz packages)
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup finely shredded Italian cheese blend (4 oz)
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count)
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Line two 15x10x1-inch pans with cooking parchment paper; spray with cooking spray.
  • Spray 10-inch skillet with cooking spray. Add mushrooms; cook over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender and most of moisture is released. Stir in thyme and salt. Remove from heat. Cool 5 minutes.
  • In large bowl, stir mushrooms and cheese until well blended.
  • Unroll dough on work surface. If using crescent roll dough, firmly press perforations to seal. Sprinkle each side with 1 1/2 teaspoons flour. With pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut dough into about 1/4-inch pieces. Mix dough pieces into mushroom mixture in small amounts until well blended.
  • Shape mushroom mixture into 32 (1 1/4-inch) balls. Place in pan. Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until golden brown.

1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
2 cups thinly sliced fresh mushrooms
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. On an ungreased baking sheet, unroll crescent dough into one long rectangle; press perforations to seal. Prick dough several times with a fork. Bake 5 minutes., Meanwhile, in a bowl, toss mushrooms with melted butter; arrange on crust. Sprinkle with cheese and seasonings. Bake 12-14 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown. Cut into 12 pieces.

1/4 lb fresh mushrooms, coarsley chopped
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
2 tablespoons minced onions
3 tablespoons butter, divided
1 (8 ounce) can crescent roll dough
2 1/2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, slowly cook and stir the mushrooms, parsley and onion in 2 tablespoons butter until tender.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • Separate the dough into 4 rectangles.
  • Cut rectangles in half, forming 8 squares, and arrange on a large baking sheet.
  • Place 1 tablespoon mushroom mixture on each square.
  • Top each square with 1 teaspoon parmesan cheese.
  • Fold the squares into triangles.
  • In a small saucepan, melt remaining butter.
  • Brush triangles with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake in the preheated oven 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Serve warm.

I don't remember where I got this recipe, but it is absolutely wonderful. I've made it for my coworkers and they love it. They always ask me to make more. This is best served warm even though it can be reheated.

1/3 cup chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
3 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
2 (8 ounce) cans crescent rolls
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder or 1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large skillet, saute onion in butter until tender. Remove from heat.
  • Add pepper, garlic powder and mushrooms. Mix well.
  • Gently fold in sour cream until mushrooms are evenly coated.
  • Separate crescent dough into 16 triangles.
  • To form 1 large crescent, overlap sides of 2 triangles about 1/2 inch. Press edges to seal.
  • Spoon 1/4 cup mushroom mixture evenly over large triangle.
  • Beginning at the shortest side of the triangles, roll loosely to opposite point.
  • Place rolls, point side down, on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Curve edges to create crescent shape.
  • Bake in the oven for 14-18 minutes or until golden brown.

2 tablespoons butter
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped
1 green onion, chopped, divided
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated seamless crescent dough sheet

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and half of the green onion; cook and stir until mushrooms are tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Add cream and cheese; cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until liquids are evaporated., Unroll dough into one long rectangle. Cut into 24 pieces; press lightly onto bottom and up sides of ungreased mini-muffin cups. Fill each with 1-1/2 teaspoons mushroom mixture., Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining green onion. Serve warm.
