1 lb spicy sausage (Jimmy Dean)
2 1/2 cups mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons butter
1 cup sour cream
6 eggs
2 cups milk
3 cups swiss cheese, shredded
6 cups French bread, cubed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Brown sausage in a skillet. Drain fat and set aside. Saute onions and mushrooms in butter until onion is tender. Mix in browned sausage.
  • Place bread in a 9x13 pan. Layer sausage mixture then cheese over the bread.
  • Mix eggs, milk, sourcream, salt and pepper.
  • Pour evenly over cheese. Cover and refrigerate 6-24 hours.
  • In the morning bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes at 325* or until lighly browned and egg is set.

Based on the topping on the burger, i create this masterpiece of casserole recipe, it's great with roasted chicken.

1 - (6-ounce) long-grain and wild rice mix
1 ounce(s) french bread,cubed
2 tablespoon(s) butter,melted and divided
1/2 cup(s) grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup(s) chopped red onion
2 - garlic cloves,minced
3 cup(s) sliced fresh mushrooms
1 cup(s) three cheese alfredo sauce
1/2 cup(s) cold whole milk
1/2 cup(s) whipped cream cheese
1 3/4 cup(s) shredded swiss cheese,divided
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Prepare rice according to package directions.Set aside.
  • While rice cooks,place bread in a food processor;pulse 15 times or until fine crumbs measure 1/2 cup.Add 1 tablespoon to butter to processor;pulse until combined.Add parmesan cheese to until combined.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.Add remaining butter,onion,garlic and mushrooms;saute 5 minutes or until onion is tender.Stir in alfredo sauce,milk,cream cheese,1 cup shredded swiss cheese and black pepper.Add rice;stir.
  • Spoon rice mixture into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish,coated with cooking spray.Sprinkle with breadcrumb mixture and remaining swiss cheese.Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
