MOM'S CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUDDY BARS



Mom's Chocolate Peanut Buddy Bars image

This is an old recipe my mom found out of a magazine years ago and cut it out to keep. She wrote "good" on it, so I figure it was worth keeping around all these years!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup peanut butter
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
11 1/2 ounces chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Beat peanut butter & butter together until smooth, about 1 minute.
  • Add suar, eggs and vanilla, beat until creamy.
  • Blend in flour and salt.
  • Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  • Spread into ungreased 13x9" baking pan.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes until edges begin to brown.
  • Take out of oven and immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over cookie layer, let stand 5 minutes.
  • Once chips are shiny and soft, spread evenly over whole cookie layer.
  • Cool completely & cut into 1 1/2 inch bars.

1 package (16-1/2 ounces) refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
2 cups chocolate-covered peanuts
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup butterscotch ice cream topping

Steps:

  • Press cookie dough into an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 14-16 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and center is set. Sprinkle with peanuts and marshmallows; drizzle with ice cream topping., Bake 6-8 minutes longer or until marshmallows are puffed. Cool completely and cut into bars.

1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips

  • In large mixing bowl beat peanut butter and margarine until smooth.
  • Add sugar, eggs and vanilla;beat until creamy.
  • Blend in flour and salt.
  • Stir in 1 c chocolate morsels.
  • Spread into ungreased 13 x 9 pan.
  • Bake @ 350 degrees 25-30 minutes -- or until edges begin to brown.

This recipe is from my mom. It is a Nestle Toll House recipe from way back in the early 70's.

  • 6. Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes until morsels become soft and shiny. Spread morsels evenly over top. Cool completely. Cut and enjoy!
