AMISH SUGAR COOKIES
These easy-to-make, old-fashioned sugar cookies simply melt in your mouth! I've passed this recipe around to many friends. After I gave it to my sister, she entered the cookies in a local fair and won best of show. -Sylvia Ford, Kennett, Missouri

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, beat the butter, oil and sugars. Beat in eggs until well blended. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to creamed mixture., Drop by small teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

- In a bowl, beat together the butter, oil, and both sugars.
- Add eggs and vanilla, beat in until well combined.
- Add in baking soda, cream of tartar, and flour. beat until just combined.
- Using a cookie scoop, scoop dough onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes about 5 dozen.

- Mix oil& sugar.
- Add beaten eggs& mix well.
- Mix together dry ingredients, then add to above mixture alternately with evaporated milk.
- Add vanilla.
- Drop onto cookie sheets, and sprinkle w/ crumb mixture.
- Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
- THESE SEEM TO HAVE THE BEST TEXTURE WHEN STIRRED (MIXED) BY HAND (WHISK), VERSUS AN ELECTRIC MIXER.
