A great meal idea for a party or picnic. I suggest using HALF the cream cheese so that it doesn't taste so cream cheesy. The wider the loaf of bread, the better!

1 (1 pound) loaf French bread
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped cooked ham
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup chopped green onions
¼ cup chopped green chile peppers
2 small jalapeno peppers, chopped, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Cut the top off the bread loaf, keeping in one piece, and reserve for later use. Hollow out the loaf to form an area for the filling. Chop the removed bread for dipping.
  • Mix Cheddar cheese, ham, sour cream, cream cheese, green onions, green chile peppers, and jalapeno peppers in a bowl; spoon into the hollowed bread loaf. Return the top to the bread and wrap loaf with 2 pieces aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until filling is cooked through and bubbling, about 1 hour 20 minutes.

This decadent Mississippi Sin dip is an easy appetizer made with cheese and ham mixed together and baked inside a loaf of French bread until it is ooey gooey.

16 oz Sour cream
8 oz Cream cheese (, softened)
2 c Sharp cheddar cheese (, shredded)
1 c Ham (, chopped)
1 tbsp Hot sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 loaf French bread (, optional or serve in bowl)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cut a hole out of the top of the bread and remove the soft inside. You can save the top of the bread to serve with the dip later.
  • Mix the sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, ham, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce together in a bowl.
  • Add mixture to french bread.
  • Wrap stuffed bread in aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes or until warmed through.
  • Serve with bread and crackers.

1 pound(s) loaf round bread
1--8 ounce(s) package shredded cheddar cheese
1-8 ounce(s) cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 cup(s) sour cream
4 ounce(s) jar dried beef, chopped (optional)
1/2 cup(s) chopped green onions
1/2 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cut top off round bread loaf. Scoop out bread from the interior of the loaf, leaving a hollowed shell. Reserve top and removed bread.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, dried beef, green chile peppers, green onions and Worcestershire sauce. Transfer the mixture to the hollowed bread. Replace top of bread.
  • Wrap bread with foil and bake in the preheated oven 90 minutes. Serve with pieces of the scooped out bread and crackers
