21 ounces cherry pie filling
18 ounces yellow cake mix
8 tablespoons margarine or 8 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • place one can of cherry pie filling in the bottom or a 9 x 13 cake pan (or can use a smaller pan) . In a large bowl, combine one yellow cake mix, and the melted margarine, (nothing else, just those two ingredients). Mix well, will be a little dry and crumbly. dot cake mixture on top of pie filling as evenly as possible. place in oven and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
  • This recipe can also be made in a crock pot on low for 2-3 hours.

1 can(s) cherry or apple pie filling (21 oz.)
1 pkg yellow cake mix (18 1/4 oz.)
1/2 c butter, melted
1/3 c walnuts, chopped (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Put pie filling in the bottom of your crock pot. (must have the tall crock pot, it doesn't work in the larger round ones)
  • 2. Combine dry cake mix and butter. (mixture will be crumbly)
  • 3. Sprinke cake mixture over pie filling.
  • 4. Sprinkle with nuts. (you can also use brown sugar and cinnamon instead of nuts)
  • 5. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours.

½ cup butter, melted
⅓ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Place pie filling in a 1-1/2 qt. slow cooker. Combine dry cake mix and butter (mixture will be crumbly); sprinkle over filling. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours. Serve in bowls.
