1/2 lb new potato
1/2 lb Brussels sprout
1/2 cup chicken broth or 1/2 cup water
1 dash fresh ground pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Steps:

  • Combine potatoes, brussels sprouts and broth in 2 quart microwave safe casserole. Cover tightly with lid or plastic wrap turned back slightly on one side.
  • Microwave on high 4 minutes. Stir. Cover again. Microwave on high 3-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • Let them stand, covered, 5 minutes. To serve, sprinkle vegetables with pepper, parsley and chives.

1-1/2 pounds brussels sprouts
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
Pinch pepper
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 cup finely crushed cornflakes
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Steps:

  • Place the brussels sprouts in a 1-1/2-qt. microwave-safe dish; add water. Sprinkle with celery salt and pepper. Cover and microwave on high for 6-8 minutes or until tender, stirring and rotating a quarter turn every 2 minutes. Drain. Sprinkle with cheese; microwave on high for 30-60 seconds or until cheese begins to melt. Combine cornflakes and butter; sprinkle over sprouts.
