GRILLED TURKEY MEXIBURGERS



Grilled Turkey Mexiburgers image

Dinner ready in 30 minutes! Enjoy this grilled turkey sandwich topped with cheese and Old El Paso® salsa - a hearty meal.

1 lb. lean ground turkey
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 burger buns, split
2 oz. reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese, shredded (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup Old El Paso™ Thick 'n Chunky salsa

Steps:

  • Heat grill. In medium bowl, mix ground turkey, parsley, onion salt and pepper. Shape mixture into 4 patties, 1/2 inch thick. Place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 11 to 13 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, turning once.
  • Place 2 tablespoons cheese on each cooked patty. Place patties on bottom halves of buns. Top each with salsa and top halves of buns.

1 lb. ground beef
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 burger buns, split
4 (1-oz.) slices colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend
1/4 cup Old El Paso® Thick 'n Chunky salsa
Sliced jalapeno chiles, if desired

Steps:

  • GRILL DIRECTIONS: Heat grill. In medium bowl, combine all burger ingredients except buns; mix well. Shape mixture into 4 patties.
  • When ready to grill, place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals; cover grill. Cook 10 to 12 minutes or until burgers are no longer pink in center, turning once.
  • To serve, place 1 cheese slice on each burger. Place burgers on bottom halves of buns. Top with salsa, sliced chiles and top halves of buns.

1 pounds ground beef
2 cups salsa
1 units onion

Steps:

  • Let ground beef thaw. Then mix 1 1/2 cups salsa into beef.
  • Cut onion in half. Finely chop 1/2 of the onion and mix into beef. Slice 2nd half for burger topper.
  • Separate beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Use the other 1/2 cup salsa in place of ketchup, mustard, or mayo. Cook according to preference.
