GARLIC-RANCH PARTY MIX

Nonstick cooking spray, for the baking sheet
6 tablespoons buttermilk powder
4 teaspoons garlic powder
4 teaspoons onion powder
1 tablespoon dried chives
2 teaspoons dried dill
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter, melted
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 cup corn cereal squares
1 cup rice cereal squares
1 cup wheat cereal squares
1 cup thin pretzel sticks
1 cup salted and roasted mixed nuts
1 cup pita chips
1 cup bite-sized cheese square crackers
10 cups store-bought popped popcorn

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • To make the spice mix, whisk together the buttermilk powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried chives, dried dill, dried parsley, dried oregano, dried basil, paprika, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the butter, sugar and mustard until combined. Set aside.
  • Add the cereal squares, pretzel sticks, nuts, pita chips and cheese squares to a large bowl. Add all but 2 tablespoons of the melted butter mixture and toss to coat evenly. Sprinkle with all but 1 tablespoon of the spice mix and toss to combine.
  • Spread the coated cereal mix onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes, until toasty and crispy, about 50 minutes.
  • When the mixture comes out of the oven, pour the popcorn into a large bowl and toss with the remaining butter mixture and seasoning mixture. Add the toasted cereal mix and mix thoroughly. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

3 cups crisp corn cereal, such as Corn Chex
3 cups crisp wheat cereal, such as Wheat Chex
3 cups crisp rice cereal, such as Rice Chex
2 cups pretzel sticks
2 cups mixed nuts
1 to 1 1/2 sticks (8 to 12 tablespoons) salted butter
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt, such as Lawry's
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
6 to 12 dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
3 to 5 cloves garlic, mashed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • Dump the corn, wheat and rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the pretzel sticks and nuts.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, hot sauce and garlic and microwave until the butter is melted. Stir together and toss into the cereal mixture, stirring as you go.
  • Transfer the mixture to 1 or 2 baking sheets and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
  • Grab a handful every 40 minutes. Eat. Spoil your appetite.

8 cups popped popcorn
6 cups toasted corn cereal squares, such as Chex
4 cups miniature pretzel twists
4 cups salted dry-roasted peanuts
1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) butter
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with foil.
  • In a large bowl, combine the popcorn, cereal, pretzels and peanuts. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully stir in the vanilla and baking soda. Pour over the popcorn mixture and stir until coated.
  • Divide the mixture between the prepared baking sheets and bake, stirring every 10 minutes, for 30 minutes. Transfer the pans to wire racks and let cool completely, continuing to stir occasionally as the snack mix cools.
  • Serve in individual bags.

EVERYTHING SNACK MIX



Everything Snack Mix image

4 cups honey nut cereal, such as Chex
2 cups salted pretzel sticks, hollows or squares
2 cups grooved Cheddar crackers, such as Cheez-It
1 cup wasabi peas
1 cup unsalted peanuts
One 3-ounce package ramen noodle soup, noodles broken into pieces, seasoning packet reserved
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
1/3 cup grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cereal, pretzels, Cheddar crackers, wasabi peas, peanuts and crushed ramen noodles.
  • In a saute pan, melt the butter, then stir in the ramen seasoning packet and grated Parmesan. Pour over the cereal mixture and toss to coat. Spread evenly between the 2 baking sheets and bake until the mixture is fragrant and the cheese is melted, about 12 minutes. Let cool and serve.
