1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 ¼ cups maple syrup
3 tablespoons butter
¼ teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 ½ teaspoons maple flavored extract
1 cup walnut halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.)
  • In a saucepan, Mix brown sugar and flour. Add maple syrup, butter and salt. Heat until butter melts, stirring constantly.
  • In a medium bowl, beat eggs with maple flavoring. Stir in sugar mixture. Pour into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle with walnuts.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until filling is set.

Dough for single-crust pie (9 inches)
3 large eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup maple syrup
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups pecan halves
Whipped cream, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge. Refrigerate while preparing filling., In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until smooth. Add maple syrup, butter, vanilla, salt and pecans. Pour into crust. , Bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. If desired, top with whipped cream to serve. Store in the refrigerator.

1 3/4 cup(s) flour
- nonstick cooking spray
3/4 cup(s) powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
3/4 cup(s) butter, cut up
3 - eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cup(s) chopped mixed nuts or pecans
3/4 cup(s) pure maple syrup
3 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
3/4 teaspoon(s) maple flavoring or 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup(s) white baking pieces, optional
2 teaspoon(s) shortening, optional
36 - pecan halves, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Line a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with foil, extending foil over edges of pan. Lightly coat foil with cooking spray. Set aside
  • For crust, in medium bowl, stir together flour, powdered sugar and salt. using a pastry blender, cut in the 3/4 cup butter til mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture evenly onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake for about 20 minutes or til lightly browned.
  • Meanwhile, for filling in medium bowl, mix eggs, mixed nuts, brown sugar, maple syrup, the 3 Tbsp. melted butter and maple flavoring. Spread filling evenly over hot crust.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or til filling is set. Cool in pan on wire rack. using edges of foil, lift uncut bars out of pan. Cut into bars.
  • For garnish, if desired, in large glass measuring cup, mix white baking pieces and shortening. Microwave on full power for 1 minute or til mixture is melted. Stir every 30 seconds. Spoon or drizzle bars with white chocolate mixture and top each with a pecan half. Makes 36 bars.

1 1/2 cups flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup walnuts, chopped or 1 cup pecans
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Combine flour and 2 tbsp brown sugar; cut in butter until coarse crumbs.
  • Press into an ungreased 9x9 or 11x7 bar pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Beat eggs with 1/2 cup brown sugar, add the nuts, syrup, melted butter and vanilla. Pour over the crust.
  • Return to the oven for 25 more minutes or until set.
  • Cool slightly before cutting into bars.

3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 cups cold butter
TOPPING:
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 cups coarsely chopped pecans
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine flour and confectioners' sugar. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Press into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake until edges are lightly browned, 12-15 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, syrup, cinnamon and salt. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir over low heat until butter is melted. Stir in pecans, cream and vanilla. Remove from the heat; spread over crust., Bake until bubbly, 20-25 minutes longer. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
