Ingredients

4 bananas, sliced
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon real maple syrup
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Steps:

Place sliced bananas in a small casserole dish.
Combine butter, syrup, and lemon juice and drizzle over bananas.
Bake uncovered at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
Meanwhile, place coconut and pecans on a cookie sheet with sides and toast in oven till light brown.
Sprinkle coconut and pecans over bananas.
Serve in dessert dishes or over ice cream.

I remember this being served as dessert for a dinner party in Scotland. It is so darn yummy! The flambe also is a magnificent presentation!

4 peeled bananas
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/3 c maple syrup
1 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp dark rum, optional
ice cream, optional

Steps:

1. Cut bananas in 1 1/2" thick pieces and place in single layer in buttered 4 c baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Pour syrup over and dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees 20 min, turning 2-3 times.
2. To flambe: just before serving, warm rum and ignite. Pour over bananas.
