1 package (16 ounces) frozen bread dough dinner rolls (12 count), thawed but still cold
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
12 bun-length beef hot dogs
1 package (7-1/4 ounces) macaroni and cheese dinner mix

Steps:

  • Let dough stand at room temperature until soft enough to shape, 15-20 minutes. Cut each roll in half; shape each half into a 3-in.-long mini hot dog bun. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets., Cover with greased plastic wrap; let rise in a warm place until almost doubled, about 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°., Bake buns until golden brown, 12-15 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool completely., In a 15x10x1-in. baking pan, toss bread crumbs with onion, oil, salt and pepper. Bake at 350° until golden brown, stirring once, 5-7 minutes. , Cook hot dogs and macaroni and cheese according to package directions. To serve, cut hot dogs crosswise in half. Split buns; fill with hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. Sprinkle with toasted crumbs.

3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 large egg, lightly beaten
2/3 cup 2% milk
10 pop sticks
10 hot dogs
Oil for deep-fat frying

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour and egg. Stir in milk to make a thick batter; let stand 4 minutes. Insert sticks into hot dogs; dip into batter. , In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Fry corn dogs, a few at a time, until golden brown, 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels.

1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, with liquid
1 (14.75 ounce) can cream style corn
1 cup small uncooked seashell pasta
½ cup butter, cut into pieces
1 cup cubed processed cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium baking dish, mix the whole kernel corn, cream style corn, uncooked pasta, butter, and processed cheese.
  • Bake, covered, for 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove cover, stir, and continue baking 30 minutes, or until the pasta is tender but firm.

MAC AND CHEESE CORN DOGS RECIPE

Number Of Ingredients 17

2 ounces yellow onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
4 cups heavy cream
2 cups milk
4 sheets gelatin
1 ea whole cloves
.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
.25 pound shredded Cheddar
.5 pound shredded Gouda
.5 pound Velveeta, diced
.5 pound Brie
3 dashes Tabasco
Salt and pepper, to taste
.25 pound butter
As needed AP flour
2 pound elbow macaroni, cooked
1 pint, corn dog batter (see recipe)

Steps:

  • Sweat onions until translucent. Add milk, cream, cloves and nutmeg. Add gelatin and bring to a simmer. Make a roux with the butter and AP flour. Add roux as needed to thicken the milk. Cook for about 30 minutes. Strain into a stock pot. Add cheese, Tabasco, blend with a stick blender until smooth. Season to taste. Fold cooked macaroni together with cheese and let cool to handle. Lay out on a clean table a length of food service film approximately 24" long. Scoop the mixed mac 'n' cheese in a 1"-thick by 12"-long line lengthwise along the film 3" from the base. Gently pull the bottom of the film up and over the mac 'n' cheese and slowly roll into a tube. Once rolled tightly, twist one end tight and tie while pushing the air out toward the open end. Once air is removed twist the open end shut to compress and tie. Refrigerate overnight. Cut the solidified mac 'n' cheese into 3" lengths, skewer with corn dog skewer (chop stick), dip completely in corn dog batter, fry at 350 F, 2-3 minutes each.

1 pound elbow macaroni
Salt
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
1 package beef or pork hot dogs, chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons all- purpose flour
1/2 cup beer, 1/3 of a bottle - whatever you have on hand, chicken broth can be substituted
2 cups milk
Pepper
1 rounded tablespoon spicy mustard
2 rounded tablespoons ketchup
3 cups yellow sharp Cheddar, shredded, divided (Buy preshredded cheese. You will need 1 1/2 sacks of 10-ounce packages.)

Steps:

  • Boil a large pot of water for macaroni. Salt water and under cook macaroni, cook about 7 minutes until just under al dente in doneness.
  • Preheat broiler and set rack 12 inches from heat.
  • While pasta works, heat a large deep nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1 turn of the pan, then add hot dogs and brown on both sides, 4 minutes total. Remove the dogs with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate. Add another tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1 turn of the pan, and the butter. When butter melts, cook onions 4 to 5 minutes, then add flour and cook another minute. Add beer and cook off completely, 1 minute. Whisk in milk and bring to a bubble, then season the sauce with salt and pepper and stir in the mustard and ketchup. Lower heat and add 2 cups of the cheese. Stir to melt, 1 minute. Adjust mustard, ketchup, and salt and pepper, to your taste.
  • Drain pasta well. Combine pasta and hot dogs with sauce and coat evenly then pour into large casserole and top with remaining cheese. Melt and brown cheese under broiler, 2 minutes. Serve.
