Steps:
- In a large stock pot add baking soda. Then add water, stir to disolve baking soda. "Slowly" add vinegar, very slowly! The baking soda and vinegar will bubble up ALOT. once your done adding the vinegar, stir till the soda is dissolved.
- Transfer to a gallon jar or I use an old costco downy jug, this recipe fills it perfectly! I use about 1/4 cup per load in my downy ball, it works amazingly well. You can add essential oils if you like to add scents. Just make sure if you add the oils to shake before each use! Note- I use the old costco downy jug, so mine always has just a little bit of a downy scent!
LIQUID FABRIC SOFTENER
Steps:
- A quick easy and cheap fabric softener is white distilled vinegar. Use this in your downy ball instead. Your clothes will come out softer and no they won't smell like vinegar. For scented softener, simply add some extract or essential oil to the mix until you've reached desired scent. Be sure to shake well before each use as oil and water will separate. *This softener will not only soften your clothes but it will also guard against static.
