1 lb ground beef
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
32 ounces chicken broth
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 cups lasagna noodles, broken
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, finely shredded

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef, green pepper, and garlic cloves in Dutch oven or stock pot; drain.
  • Add onion, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
  • Stir in chicken broth, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and thyme.
  • Bring to a boil; add lasagna noodles.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese.
  • Garnish each bowl with Mozzarella cheese.
  • Makes 6 to 8 servings.

1 lb lean ground beef (I used all Italian sausage) or 1 lb half Italian sausage (I used all Italian sausage)
1 yellow onion, diced
4 -5 garlic cloves, minced
1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
24 ounces traditional Italian sauce
8 -10 cups low sodium chicken broth
14 ounces crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 whole bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
10 uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into approximately 2 inch pieces
1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
shredded mozzarella cheese, to taste
freshly finely grated parmesan cheese, to taste
ricotta cheese, to taste

Steps:

  • Heat large Dutch oven over medium high heat.
  • Add beef and onion and cook, stirring occasionally until beef is browned. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add sauce, 6 cups chicken broth, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, sugar, spices, and lasagna noodles.
  • Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer until lasagna noodles are tender, stirring occasionally (approximately 20 to 30 minutes).
  • Discard bay leaf and stir in heavy cream and 2 to 4 cups chicken broth to reach desired consistency. Garnish individual servings with desired amount of cheese.

1 lb ground beef or 1 lb vegetarian soy crumbles
3 cups beef broth or 3 cups vegetable broth, to make vegetarian
1 cup water
4 -5 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried basil
1/2 cup chopped onion
28 ounces diced tomatoes
6 ounces tomato paste
1 cup v 8 juice (or any vegetable drink)
2 cups uncooked shell pasta
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
shredded cheese, for topping (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. First mix together the can of tomatoes, and tomato paste in crockpot.
  • 2. Next add broth, beef, garlic, parsley, basil, onion, V8 and salt/pepper.
  • 3. Cover and cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours.
  • 4. When 30 minutes are left of cook time, add in the 1 cup of water and noodles. Stir to combine. Put lid back on and continue cooking for 30 minutes.

1/2 lb bulk Italian sausage
1 small onion, chopped
2 cups small shell pasta (shells, elbows, etc.)
1 (28 ounce) can tomato soup
3/4 cup water
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
3/4 cup small curd cottage cheese
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup canned diced tomato, undrained
3/4 cup roasted red pepper, diced
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Steps:

  • In large soup pot, brown beef& sausage with onion.
  • Drain.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions.
  • Add pasta to pot along with all remaining ingredients.
  • Heat through, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve with garlic bread& salad, if desired.

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup diced onion
hamburger, helper lasagna flavor (1pkg)
6 cups water
14 ounces diced tomatoes
1 cup frozen corn
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
1 small zucchini, chopped
4 ounces frozen chopped spinach (or half of a frozen pkg)

Steps:

  • Cook beef and onion in a large pot.
  • Add hamburger helper seasoning mix (NOT THE NOODLES YET).
  • Add water, corn, tomatoes and cheese. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Put in noodles, zucchini and frozen spinach.
  • Simmer for another 10 minutes of until the noodles are cooked.

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups water
2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil, undrained
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 cups uncooked mafalda pasta (mini-lasagna noodles)
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups italian style croutons
1 1/2-2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • Cook, beef, onion and garlic in dutch oven over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender.
  • Drain.
  • Stir in water, diced tomatoes and tomato paste until blended.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients except croutons and cheese.
  • Heat to boiling then reduce heat.
  • Cover and simmer about 10 minutes until pasta is tender.
  • Set oven to broil.
  • Pour hot soup into 6 oven-proof soup bowls or casseroles.
  • Top each with 1/4 cup croutons.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Broil soup with tops 3 to 4 inches from heat 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
