1 cup Karo light or dark corn syrup
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Spice Islands Pure Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 cups pecans
1 (9-inch) unbaked or frozen deep-dish pie crust

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla using a spoon. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.
  • Bake on center rack of oven until center reaches 200°F and springs back when tapped lightly, about 55 to 70 minutes.

This is an old recipe, think it was on the label of a Karo syrup bottle. My nephew, Ricky, wanted pecan pie for his birthday instead of a cake.

1 c karo light corn syrup
1 c sugar
1 c pecans, chopped
1/8 tsp salt
4 Tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs, beaten
1 frozen pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Cream the sugar and the butter. Beat the eggs in by hand.
  • 2. Add syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • 3. Pour into pie crust. Bake for 20 minutes in preheated 425 degree oven. Reduce heat to 325 and bake until pie is firm, about 40 minutes.
