Pineapple and orange juice are mixed with an overproof white rum for this tasty Jamaican rum punch. The tropical cocktail recipe is easy and delicious.

1 1/2 ounces white overproof rum
1 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
1 1/2 ounces orange juice
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/2 ounce grenadine
Garnish: pineapple wedge
Garnish: maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the rum, fruit juices, and grenadine.
  • Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a hurricane glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherries. Serve and enjoy.

1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle fruit punch, chilled
1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
1 (2 liter) bottle ginger ale, chilled
½ gallon orange sherbet

Steps:

  • In a punch bowl, mix together fruit punch, pineapple juice and ginger ale. Add scoops of sherbet into the punch. Wait for the sherbet to begin melting, approximately 10 minutes, stir gently, and serve.

This is a very economical recipe as it is mainly made from fruit peel which is usually thrown away. I thought it interesting as I hate wasting anything. Found in an old English Beverages Book, this can be served hot or cold.

1 large fresh pineapple, rind of
1 orange, rind of
8 cloves
1 small cinnamon stick
50 g sugar
1 1/4 liters boiling water
150 ml orange juice
150 ml lemon juice

Steps:

  • Wash the peel of the pineapple & orange & place in a large bowl with spices & sugar.
  • Add boiling water, stir, cover & leave overnight.
  • Add juices & serve either hot or cold.
