JACK DANIELS STEAK

Jack Daniels Steak image

A friend gave me the marinade, but I altered it to my preference of steak, amount of whiskey, and type of mustard. I also add mushrooms and caramelized onions to my steak. I also haven't scored the meat, but she suggested cutting diamonds onto one side.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2-2 lb london broil or other steak, about 1/2" thick (we prefer london broil to marinate)
1 clove minced garlic
2 tsp seeded mustard (not the yellow variety)
1/4 c jack daniels
butter
salt and pepper to taste
sauteed sliced mushrooms, optional
caramelized sauteed onions, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Mix garlic, mustard and whiskey, put steak in ziplock and pour in mix. Refrigerate overnight, turning a couple times. Grill 3-5 min per side, or to however you want it done, and brush with butter if you want. We like it with mushrooms, or mushrooms and onions.
  • 2. To caramelize onions, I take butter in a pan, and slice in the onions. Over low to med heat, stir them occasional, until they turn light brown. They become sweet that way, and are yummy on the steaks.
