2 1/2 cups white wine
3 garlic cloves
16 ounces gruyere cheese, grated
1 lb swiss cheese, grated
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons kirsch
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • In saucepan simmer the wine and garlic.
  • Then put all into the crock pot, except for the nutmeg.
  • Let cook on high for 2 hours, sprinkle with nutmeg and cook for another 2 hours on low.

9 oz swiss cheese, grated
9 oz gruyère cheese, grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 clove garlic
¾ cup white wine
½ lemon, juiced
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
vegetable
1 cup bread cubes
12 oz cured meat
assorted fruit

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, toss the Swiss and Gruyère cheeses with the cornstarch.
  • Smash the garlic clove, but leave it whole.
  • Add the cheese, wine, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
  • Cover, turn the slow cooker on high, and cook for 15 minutes. Remove the garlic and stir. Cover again and cook for 45 minutes more on high, stirring every 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and smooth. Be careful not to overcook or the fondue will seize.
  • Turn the slow cooker to warm and serve the fondue with your favorite items for dipping.

3/4 cup white wine
1 clove garlic, peeled and smashed
9 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated
9 ounces Swiss cheese, grated
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 Granny Smith apples, sliced, for serving
1 small head cauliflower, cut into florets, for serving
1 loaf ciabatta, cubed, for serving

Steps:

  • Add the wine to a 1.5-quart slow cooker and turn to high. Allow to heat for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and let simmer in the hot wine for 1 minute.
  • Meanwhile, in a large bowl, toss together the Gruyere and Swiss cheeses, cornstarch, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  • Add the cheese mixture to the hot wine and cook for 30 minutes on high. Turn to low and cook for another 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • To serve, stir the fondue to make sure everything is amalgamated. Place the apple slices, cauliflower florets, bread and skewers on a platter and serve.

15 ounces spaghetti sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup red wine
1 loaf Italian bread, cut into bite-size pieces

Steps:

  • Brown the sausage and drain.
  • Stir in the spaghetti sauce.
  • Gradually add cheeses until melted.
  • Mix the wine and cornstarch, then add to the fondue until thickened.
  • Serve with cut Italian bread or Vienna loaf.

1 lb lean ground beef
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
5 ounces spaghetti sauce mix (1 envelope of dry mix)
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 lb shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup dry red wine

Steps:

  • In a skillet or crock-pot with a browning unit, cook beef until crumbly; pour off excess fat.
  • In the crock-pot, combine beef with dry spaghetti sauce mix, tomato sauce, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in the wine.
  • Turn control to high. Add dissolved cornstarch.
  • Heat on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Dip chunks of Italian bread into the fondue while keeping the mixture hot in the crock-pot.
