ORANGE SODA ICE CREAM (ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER)

Orange Soda Ice Cream (Electric Ice Cream Maker) image

This is one of my favorite homemade ice creams. It is super easy and tasty. I have had this several times since I was a young boy but have never made it myself. The Eagle Brands website calls for 20 oz Orange Soda rather than 2 Liters. I am pretty sure we used a 2 qt Ice cream churn and most likely did not put the whole 2 liters in the recipe. Also they call for 2 teaspoons of Orange Extract. You can also make this with other flavors.

PEACH ICE CREAM MADE WITH PEACH SODA

Peach ice cream made with peach soda image

I found this in this month's issue of Food Network magazine. (July/August 20012). This has a very rich pronounced peachy taste, but the texture is more like sorbet than ice cream. The editor that submitted the recipe said that this was a recipe from her childhood, but she thought maybe adding the chopped fruit to a cream and a...

8 to 9 medium ripe peaches
1 c sugar
36 oz nehi peach soda ( i used a store brand and it was fine)

  • 2. Transfer the peach mixture to a large bowl and stir in the peach soda.
  • 3. At this point I would cover and chill. The directions do not say this, but I think it is a good idea.
  • 4. Process in your ice cream machine for recommended amount of time. This made so much that it actually had to be made in 2 batches.

BIG RED SODA ICE CREAM

Big Red Soda Ice Cream image

This is a favorite ice cream in the summer. It is very easy to put together. It is very pretty, too!

Provided by Karla Harkins

Categories     Ice Cream & Ices

Time 1h10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 l big red soda
1 jar(s) maraschino cherries, chopped, save juice
1 pkg pecans, chopped
3 can(s) sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg chocolate chips, if desired
use cherries, pecans and chocolate chips to suit your taste.

Steps:

  • 1. This requires an ice cream maker. Get that ready to go.
  • 2. Chop cherries and pecans. Pour into ice cream machine container. Add reserved cherry juice. Pour in 3 cans of sweetened condensed milk. Fill the container up to the fill line with Big Red soda. Put on lid.
  • 3. Turn on ice cream maker and wait for it to freeze, adding salt and ice as needed to the ice cream machine. Once the machine stops it is okay to eat. If you like the ice cream harder then pour out of machine into a big covered container and let harden in the freezer. Enjoy!!
  • 4. This can be made to your family's preferences very easily. I have a friend that just uses 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk. You can leave out the pecans if you prefer. You can also substitute strawberry soda for the Big Red soda. Have fun with the recipe.
