Time 35m

Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter
8 slices bread
2 teaspoons mustard
4 slices process American cheese
8 hot dogs
Mustard or ketchup, if you like

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375°. Put the margarine in the saucepan. Heat over low heat for about 1 minute, stirring a few times with the wooden spoon, until margarine is melted. Take saucepan off hot burner. (Or put margarine in the microwavable bowl. Cover bowl with waxed paper. Microwave on High 30 to 45 seconds or until margarine is melted.)
  • Put the bread slices on the cookie sheet. Brush about half of the melted margarine over bread slices, using the pastry brush. Spread with the mustard, using the table knife.
  • Cut the cheese slices in half, using the sharp knife, so you have 8 triangles. Put 1 cheese triangle on each slice of bread.
  • Put 1 of the hot dogs on each cheese triangle, using the tongs.
  • Fold each slice of bread over hot dog and cheese to make a triangle shape. Fasten with 2 toothpicks, one on each side, by poking them through the bread and hot dog. Brush outsides of the bread triangles with the rest of the melted margarine.
  • Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. Use the pot holders to take cookie sheet out of oven.
  • Serve roll-ups with the mustard or ketchup, if you like.
