8 oz. apple cider (option to use our homemade recipe or store-bought)
1.5 oz. of liquor (we recommend whiskey or rum)

Steps:

  • Start by making a batch of Instant Pot Homemade Apple Cider.
  • Once apple cider is made, add 1.5 oz. of liquor for each cup of cider.
  • Serve warm, and enjoy!

SPICED RASPBERRY APPLE CIDER

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 cups of apple cider
4 - 5 sticks of cinnamon
1 ½ tsp of whole cloves
5 cardamom pods
1-2 star anise
about ½ cup maple syrup
2 green apples (cut into slices or wedges)
7 oz / 1 punnet of raspberries
2-3 tbsp of bourbon per cup (roughly measured)
Apple slices and extra raspberries to serve

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients (except for the maple syrup) in a saucepan. Bring everything to a boil on medium-high heat. Lower the heat to medium to medium-low heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  • Strain the cider, save the cinnamon sticks and discard the rest. Return the cinnamon sticks back to the cider (optional - alternatively, you could use them as a garnish when you serve)
  • Stir in the maple syrup (just enough for your taste).
  • Serve while warm in glasses/mugs with some bourbon (optional), extra raspberries, apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

¼ cup real maple syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries
1 orange peel, cut into strips
1 lemon peel, cut into strips

Steps:

  • Pour the apple cider and maple syrup into a large stainless steel saucepan.
  • Place the cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, orange peel and lemon peel in the center of a washed square of cheesecloth; fold up the sides of the cheesecloth to enclose the bundle, then tie it up with a length of kitchen string. Drop the spice bundle into the cider mixture.
  • Place the saucepan over moderate heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cider is very hot but not boiling.
  • Remove the cider from the heat. Discard the spice bundle. Ladle the cider into big cups or mugs, adding a fresh cinnamon stick to each serving if desired.
